Main Street Community Church

Sunday service

We have a Sunday morning service starting at 10.30am in the building and over Zoom.

Please see this notice for details.

What happens in a Sunday service?

We sing and pray together as an act of worship to God.

At times we like to be joyful and thankful for our experience of God. At other times we like to be quiet and reflective.

Our services are informal and we use today’s language.

Each service is different, our style is relaxed and we encourage people to be themselves.

Sunday Morning Talks

We usually listen to a speaker explaining what the bible says about an aspect of Christian faith.

Recordings of some past talks

Some Sunday morning talks are available as MP3 or Ogg Vorbis downloads. Most have text transcripts or outlines.

Getting the best from the talks

We have tips and advice on getting the best from a Bible message.

Songs

In the service, all our songs are sung from the screen at the front of the church.

Holy Communion

On the first, third, and fifth Sunday of the month we usually share communion. The exact style varies but all those who seek to love and serve the Lord Jesus are welcome to join with us in this part of the service. If you do not want to join in this part of the service, that’s fine, you are most welcome to join in with the rest of the service.

Refreshments

At the end of the Sunday morning service we usually have tea and coffee together in the church hall. You are welcome to stay and chat with us. There is no charge.
