Oldest Inhabitants of Frodsham 1908

Kindly supplied to me by Hilary Everitt of Canada, this scan is from a postcard dated 1908, written by the photographer, J. H. Cross, and mailed to a farmer in Crowton. 13 men and women, one 94 the rest in their 80s.

It is particularly interesting as, in David Nield’s book Bygone Frodsham and District (published by Cheshire Libraries and Museums in 1985, ISBN 0904532135) there is a similar photograph but dated as 1906 (op. cit., p38). The earlier photograph has just seven of the thirteen people shown in this photograph.
