Frodsham featured in the Domesday book but is still worth writing about now. Frodsham has a wide range of community activities and events. Frodsham was a village until 1992 when it became a town.

Twinning

Frodsham is twinned with Kelsterbach, a town of about 15,000 in Germany, about five minutes drive from Frankfurt Airport. Main industries include car manufacture (General motors), chemical industry and a kerosene terminal. Many work at the airport terminals or in freight and tourism. The town has a street named “Frodshamstrasse”.

Transport and Communications

Frodsham is on the A56 and at Junction 12 on the M56 (Chester to Manchester motorway).

Frodsham is on the River Weaver and the Manchester Ship Canal. There is a River Weaver Navigation Society with information on the navigable parts of the river and links to more local information.

Frodsham is also accessible by passenger train on the Manchester–Chester line. A train timetable is provided online by National Rail.
